In a Facebook post Caleen’s opponent in the November election, Republican Brian Dahle, praised the Supreme Court’s recent anti-union decision, saying it “will stop unions from taking money away from hardworking people, without their consent, to push a political agenda that has made California unaffordable.”

Benda quotes Shawn Vanderjack, president of the Five Counties Central Labor Council, saying, “That statement is just ridiculous. The housing market and the cost of living is the reason for California’s poverty rate.”

No endorsement for Dahle from Five Counties.
